Dreamy, effervescent Camille is happy to marry Silas, a sullen, tattooed ne’er-do-well and convicted burglar. Barreling through Ohio, Silas swerves & flies into a ditch. They are abetted by aging, lonely Cowboy Bob who travels from sideshow to sideshow with four painted, performing horses he calls his “Carousel.” Improbably, Silas and Camille arrive at Niagara and board a crowded tour boat that goes under the Falls. In a sea of blue ponchos, Camille disappears. Silas might make it to Canada but he chooses to search for Camille instead. POST PARTY: The April 25th screening will be part of the Friday Night Showcase Gala. The post party will be held at Land Rover Newport Beach. Some of Orange County's top restaurant will be serving signature appetizers and the bar will be hosted by Absolut vodka and Karl Strauss beer.

Welcome to the 2008 Newport Beach Film Festival
Between April 24th and May 1st, the 2008 Newport Beach Film Festival will showcase more than 350 films from around the world, offering an ambitious and international selection of features, shorts, documentaries and animation that will compete for both Jury and Audience awards.

Now in its 9th year, the Festival is proud to treat its audience to World and U.S. premieres, Academy Award entries, Sundance Selections, a Spotlight Series, and Children's Festival, from both the independent and studio worlds. With submissions from Asia, Europe, South/Central America and Africa, classic and contemporary filmmaking will provide a unique mix of genre and culture.

Since its beginnings, the Festival has presented many acclaimed films, including Crash, Layer Cake, Dust to Glory, Sexy Beast, Spellbound, Dogtown and Z Boys, Joint Security Area, and Castle in the Sky, as well as anniversary screenings of classics such as The French Connection, Sunset Boulevard, 50th anniversary of Jim Henson Company and The Outsiders. As a result, the Newport Beach Film Festival has quickly gained recognition both from filmmakers and audiences, and is expected to attract more than 40,000+ people in 2008.

In addition, the Newport Beach Film Festival offers a rare opportunity to meet the filmmakers. Directors, screenwriters and cinematographers eager to share their work will provide an exclusive inside look at the industry during post-screening Q&A's.

Set in beautiful Newport Beach, a few blocks away from spectacular coastline and less than an hour from Hollywood, the Festival will host several premieres, galas and yacht parties for a singular festival experience. Films will be shown throughout the city that boasts one of the largest movie consumer groups in the world, a rich filmmaking history as well as fine dining, shopping, and exceptional recreational activities.
