Action/Adventure/Documentary/Featured
Laguna Beach-based MacGillivray Freeman Films, producer of the blockbuster IMAX film Everest, is proud to present Grand Canyon Adventure: River at Risk 3D – a new 3D film for IMAX Theatres. Narrated by Robert Redford and featuring songs and music by Dave Matthews Band, Grand Canyon Adventure combines exhilarating river-rafting action on America’s most iconic river with the first-ever IMAX 3D images of the Grand Canyon to call attention to the world’s growing shortage of clean, fresh water—earth’s most valuable resource. The film is directed by Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Greg MacGillivray and features Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Wade Davis with native American river guide Shana Watahomigie.
Drama/Featured/Feature Film/Party/Swedish Spotlight
A warm and humorous drama full of depth and originality set in the far north. Rille a 16 year old is ostracized and bullied; a nobody. Everywhere, that is, except in the ping pong room. There he rules; he is the King of Ping Pong. His younger brother Erik is charming, respected and loved by all. Despite the profound difference between them, they share the same blood; at least that is what they both believe. When they learn the truth about their father during their spring break, they become bitter adversaries engaged in a life and death struggle. Join us immediately following this screening for a celebration honoring tonight's film and Sweden's contribution to the world of filmmaking. The post party is hosted by Design Within Reach and will feature bar hosted by Absolut vodka and Karl Strauss beer.
