In 1971, Mirco, a bright, lively 10-year-old, crazy about the Westerns and adventure films, is shot in the head when playing with an old rifle. He survives, but loses his sight. At the time, Italian law considered blind people a lost cause, and did not permit them to attend public school. Young Mirco's parents are forced to send their son to a "special school for the blind". One night, with the help of the daughter of the doorkeeper he convinces the small group of boys to sneak out and go to the cinema down the street. The result is an exhilarating experience for them all.
