During the twentieth century, the American food system had been co-opted by corporate forces, leaving those who might seek fresh and healthy food sources to fend for themselves. The late 1960s and early 1970s offered America a new food culture separate from corporate takeover. A group of political, anti-corporate protesters, led by Alice Waters, was determined to fight the conventional food system and find a way to offer local-sustainable, organic food to the public. This film offers intriguing insight to American agricultural policy and food culture during the twentieth century and explores how the California food movement managed to generate a counter-revolution against big agribusiness.

NOTE: The screening at the Muth Center is a free event.

After watching this great documentary on the "tasty" food we should all be eating, your mundane meals made from supermarket food will never tast the same. This movie serves as a guide to how to eat well and have food that really tastes good. A lot of the history of the "good food" movement in Califronia is covered in this great doc.
