It’s the night before Thanksgiving in Buffalo, New York in the late 1980’s. At their favorite Chinese restaurant, The Golden Buddha, Cliff and Carol Morgan have gathered their three grown children: Robby, a late night radio DJ, his hypochondriac younger brother Charlie, and their adopted sister Brooke, for a devastating announcement. After thirty years of marriage, Cliff and Carol have decided to get a divorce. Their biggest challenge now is that they must spend, what may be their last Thanksgiving together, as civilized as possible.
