Newport Beach Film Festival 2009

The camera follows Jeremy Gilley as he galvanizes the countries of the world during his remarkable ten year journey to establish September 21st as the official day of non-violence. After the official motion is adopted by the U.N., Gilley tries to spread the ideals of Peace Day around the world. Celebrity and corporate support enhance the momentum as Jeremy’s persistence is rewarded when several groups decide to use the day to carry out a mass vaccination against polio in Afghanistan. Jeremy heads there to persuade the government and insurgents to ratify Peace Day. The task seems impossible, but pure human spirit may triumph in a country exhausted with conflict.
