At once gritty and whimsical, The Unidentified is a portrait of 24-year-old idealist struggling with the apathy of his generation. Estlin (Jay Sullivan) is an aspiring journalist overflowing with ambition but paralyzed by choice. Frustrated by his entry level job at a local newspaper, Estlin throws himself into relationships with two women: the restless and disgruntled Brooke (Lauren Shannon), who straddles the line between love and friendship and Sophie (Erin Ecklund), an artist who uses flights of fancy to hide her wounded past. Blending fact and fiction, The Unidentified includes a climactic scene shot at an anti-war protest in Washington, DC. There, as Estlin wrestles with his convictions, he must come to terms with what has been lost, what still remains and where he must go from here.
