Sleeping
Doug Conant 2008 | Short Film
Sleeping is a beautifully crafted film. Although much of the film revolves around the mystery of an evening a young babysitter spend sitting for a new family who seem very secretive about the child she's been hired to watch. Though little watching she does, as she's told not to check in on the child who they say is sleeping and will be disturbed if looked in on. Although the mystery of the evening is compelling, we care more about how the experience changes Harriet, the protagonist. With a scenario that seems in line with most recent teeny bopper horror films, Sleeping is anything but that. Sleeping is very touching and through it's mystery draws us in to the lives of the characters.
